How to Contact Facebook in South Africa/Facebook Head Office South Africa Contact Details

Contacting a live person at Facebook is very difficult (I should know: my Instagram account was deleted after having been disabled for several months and not being able to get anyone at Facebook/Instagram to communicate with me).

Your best bet at communicating with them is through the Help Center on Facebook, or in a public place like one of their official Facebook pages.

I have no other suggestions for Facebook South Africa contact details.

Facebook Call Center South Africa

Facebook has a significant presence in South Africa, with its regional office in Johannesburg acting as a central hub for its operations across Africa. This office supports businesses and advertisers on the continent, helping them leverage Facebook’s platform for growth and connection. The establishment of this office underscores Facebook’s commitment to Africa, where mobile usage is particularly high, making the platform an essential part of daily life for many people.

The company has not specifically detailed a traditional “call center” in South Africa, but Facebook’s Johannesburg office plays a critical role in customer support, business development, and strategic partnerships across the region. The office’s focus is on helping local and regional businesses connect with consumers, using Facebook’s suite of tools to enhance customer experiences and drive business growth. This includes a strong emphasis on customer support services, where call centers in South Africa are generally known for their efficiency and quality.

South Africa has become a strategic location for customer service and back-office outsourcing due to its skilled workforce, cultural affinity with Western markets, and strong English proficiency.

Companies like PITON-Global highlight the country’s growing role in providing top-tier customer experience services, which likely complements Facebook’s local operations.

Although there is increasing talk about the decline of Facebook usage, and it’s becoming more common to hear of people deleting or deactivating their Facebook accounts, the social media network continues to expand and grow into new markets.

In June 2015, Facebook opened its first African office located in Johannesburg, South Africa. Continue reading below to find out more.

Facebook has opened its first office in Africa to further the company’s commitment to help businesses connect with people and grow locally and regionally.

Based in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg, Facebook’s newest business office will be headed by Ogilvy veteran, Nunu Ntshingila-Njeke. Her title? Head of Africa.

Facebook in Africa

Facebook is already an important part of how people and businesses connect in Africa.

This office will support the significant growth in businesses and people using Facebook.

The social media network’s active user population in Africa has grown 20% to 120 million in June 2015 from 100 million in September 2014.

More than 80% of Facebook users in Africa access the network using their mobile phones.

“We are inspired by the incredible ways people and businesses in Africa use Facebook to connect. This momentum in Africa comes on top of strong advertiser partnerships and excellent adoption of our products across all regions. In Q1 [Quarter 1] 2015, 52% of our total ad revenue came from outside the US and Canada. But we’re just getting started,” says Nicola Mendelsohn, VP Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Facebook.

  1. I would be interested to know how you got your instagram reactivated. I have had my facebook deactivated and I have not been able to contact anybody to get the required help.

    1. Hi Donald,

Welcome to Chick About Town! Sadly, I never got my Instagram reactivated. In fact, this past week, I found out my account has been completely deleted and my username is no longer associated with an Instagram account. Allow me to officially go on the record and say: FUCK Instagram!

  2. Good day! My Facebook, WhatsApp and a Instagram account of which I am the administrator has been suspended – starting on 11 June – for ‘posts that goes against our Community Standards’ – that I defintely did not make…. I have had no joy from any of the ways in which you are supposed to report a problem. Because WhatsApp is so integral to our lives – I had to get another phone number to re-activate it. I am still trying to have my Facebook re-instated as I really do not want to open another account!! What a frustration!!!

    1. Hi Hanti,

Welcome to Chick About Town! I am so sad to hear that you are experiencing this. It sounds frustrating indeed! I hope someone from Meta is able to resolve this for you soon.

    2. The exact same thing has Just happened to me. I have been locked out of FB/ Instagram/ Messenger and Whats App. Definitely been hacked.
Please if you have a Tel number or email for FB / META I would appreciate it. I too don’t want to lose my history and I have a business account attached.

      1. Hi Jenni,

Welcome to Chick About Town and so sorry to hear of your predicament. Hopefully, Hanti above sees your comment and shares a telephone number or email if ever he was able to get one.

        Good luck!

  3. Good day I switched from a face book page to a face book group. With the help of a you tube video I create the group. They recommended that a private group is better than a public group. I then made the group private.
Now however, me and the members on the group can not share the posts in the group. There are no share button. Is it because the group is private? In the group settings I tried to make the group public, but there is no option for it – it is now not changeable.
Is there maybe another way to get the share option back? I can share the posts by copying the link and then send it, but I am not willing to explain this method to all the members.
It will be a problem to create a new group that is public. I’m going to lose a lot of members, since they have to apply again for membership. Can you please help me?

    1. Hi Leopold,

      Welcome to Chick About Town!

Sorry, I can’t help you because I am not in any way affiliated with Facebook, nor am I really much of a Facebook user anymore. I do know though that once a group is private you can no longer make it public to protect the privacy of the members of the group. That’s probably why you also can’t share the posts in the group.

Perhaps someone who is able to tell you more might see your comment here and suggest a solution. Let’s hope for that.

In the meantime, I wish you good luck!

      Biche

  4. Good day

I have tried everything now because my Facebook account has been hacked.
I emailed, tried t change my password and nothing is helping.
    Please can someone assist?
I do not receive the the login code at all from Facebook.
The hackers changed my cell numbers as well.
how can I get my account back.

    1. Hi Petro,

Welcome to Chick About Town! I am sorry to hear about your predicament with Facebook. Sadly, I can’t offer you any help because I am not affiliated with Facebook. Maybe someone from there might see your comment here and be able to help you.

      Let’s hope so. Good luck!

      1. Good day Biche Do you perhaps have the new Facebook CEO for South Africa’s Email address and telephone number please and where the new FB office is located?

        1. Hello Fred,

          Welcome to Chick About Town.

Unfortunately, I do not have the email address of the new Facebook Africa CEO. I do believe their office location is 6 Culross Road in Bryanston, though. Is this no longer the case?

  5. Hi,
Did you ever manage to connect with a human to have your account enabled. My was hacked, abused and disabled. All my efforts to contact them and have the decision reversed have been futile. Please help … My account was hacked overnight on Sunday. Seems they used my account to post explicit underage pictures!!!!! As a result my FB and Instragram accounts have been disabled and nothing I do has had any effect. I’ve disputed the decision and followed all the online prompts via FB support – all lead to an endless loop of submissions and messages confirming that my account has been disabled, that I am ineligible for an FB account and that the decision is final. There is no way for me to talk to a human. All seems hopeless!!

    In a nutshell …
I retired early on Sunday night around 8:30pm so all of this happened while asleep. I woke up to three e-mails from FB on Monday morning :
    1. 9:53 pm: Notification a reset code – It was NOT me who requested one! I did not respond to the mail in the moment as I was asleep.
    2. 11:51pm :Notification that my account had been accessed from a different IP address – This was NOT me! I did not respond to the mail in the moment as I was asleep.
    3. 07:28: Notification that my account has been disabled for not following Community Standards (related to misuse of children’s images !!!!!!!!!) …. There is absolutely no way on earth that this was me or anyone connected with me.
I immediately disputed it and received a message confirming receipt, but that if upon investigation is was found that I had transgressed FB rules, my account would be permanently disabled.. The problem is that whomever hacked my page has clearly posted something in contravention of FB rules!! So now it has been permanently disabled. I have tried the online appeal process only to receive a message saying that, due to covid and a lack of staff the review cannot be done.
I have tried every online avenue possible and requested to connect with a human to no avail. This has also affected all my other pages – especially Tin Soldiers (the non-profit I run) and Blink (my business page).
Please if anyone you know at Facebook could be of assistance! I really need to connect with a human who can help me!

    1. Hi Odette,

Welcome to Chick About Town! Sadly, no I was never able to contact a human about my Instagram account and it was eventually disabled. I’ve let it go. I long ago learned that Facebook and its sister companies are not friendly to non-paying users, especially publishers/content creators. As they say, just learn not to build on rented land.

I am sorry to hear about your predicament. I hope you have a positive resolution. Who knows? Maybe someone from Facebook might see your comment here and be able to help you.

I wish that for you. Good luck!

      Biche

  6. I logged on to facebook this morning and was told that my account is deleted. I must somehow go to instagram to fix it. I don’t use instagram – my daughter created it for me and I have been on it maybe twice. My entire account is gone (including tons of photos of overseas visits which is only on Facebook, all my school and overseas friends, all my groups and even my work page which took me 10 years to build up and is a marketing tool). There does not appear to be a person you can speak to. I am absolutely LIVID. This is a fucked up invasion of my privacy. How do I fix this?? Is there a human being that is employed by facebook that I can spit nails at?

    1. Hi Bianca,

Welcome to Chick About Town! I am sorry to hear about what you are experiencing with Facebook. To get a real person at Facebook to communicate with, though, is almost an impossibility.

Still, I wish you luck on resolving your problem and maybe, just maybe, someone at Facebook might see your comment here and give you some direction on how to resolve your problem.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you,
      Biche

  7. Hello,

I believe my facebook account, Prasant Sagar Parboteeah, has been banned by error. Can you please help me retrieve my account as soon as possible ? My email address : yan.parboteeah18@gmail.com
Thank you so much in advance.

    Regards,
    Mr. Parboteeah.

    1. Hi Prasant,

Welcome to Chick About Town! Unfortunately, I am not in any way affiliated with Facebook, so I am unable to do what your are requesting.

I am hoping someone from Facebook might see your comment here and give you a way forward.

      Wishing you all the best,
      Biche

  8. I have been a subscriber of Facebook for many years, in fact ever since it started in South Africa in 2015. I enjoy most of the features of Facebook and I do promote it whenever I can. The problem over the past 2 years is these people that are trying to force themselves on you trying to sell you Bitcoin and other financial things.

Last week I had what I believed was a scammer trying to tell me that I have won a prize and I must give him the Facebook code that was sent to my phone. Is this true that you can win money from Facebook or is it in fact a scam? Why with a huge industry like Facebook is there no protection from Scammers? Surely the better way to do Facebook is to have stricter rules and regulations like ensuring a proper photo, your address and valid ID Number.

I have the problem that I forgot my password and struggling to get it right so I just have Facebook on my phone.

As I say I do enjoy Facebook but I am at the point where I just feel it has become too dangerous to be on and where does one report things like this?

    1. Hi Margaret,

Welcome to Chick About Town. One was only able to become a Facebook subscriber in South Africa in 2015? That’s interesting. I thought that was just when they opened their office there.

I would be very wary of anything that requires you to share a code that was sent to your phone. That definitely seems like a scam to me!

You should be able to report incidences like this directly thorough the app. Just look at the options for the message your receive and there should be a “Report This” option.

I encourage you to do that. It’ll will help to make Facebook a safer place for all its users.

      Good luck with that,
      Biche

    1. Hi Odongonevills,

Welcome to Chick About Town. Unfortunately, I am unable to help you with your request because I am not in any way affiliated with Facebook. I hope you are able to get a resolution to your problem though.
