Levant Dar es Salaam Reviews

Levant is one of the most exciting new entrants on the Dar es Salaam dining scene. Not only does this restaurant have beautiful ambiance–both during the day and night–but the food is really worth its salt.

Because I am a big fan of Levantine cuisine that is what I focus on when I dine at Levant, think: their hot and cold mezzas and distinctly Levantine salads.

Levant is a great place to go in groups because you can order food that goes down well shared, though this does not impede in any way the enjoyability of single-person dining or meals with fewer diners.

The best restaurant in Dar es Salaam that served this kind of cuisine has for a long time been Épi d’Or just down the street from Levant. Let me just say that Levant is giving Épi d’Or a good run for its money, especially when it comes to fine dining or dining at night.

What are your thoughts on Levant? Please let me know by leaving me a comment below. 🙂

Although ONOMO Hotel Dar es Salaam positions itself as a hotel for both business and leisure travelers, given Dar es Salaam’s layout and fantastic beaches/views of the ocean, I think it’s better suited to business travelers.

Zuane, Levant Restaurant Dar es Salaam, and Other Fantastic Restaurants Around the City

If you are dining in Dar es Salaam and are wondering about where to have a good meal, here are 14 restaurants that I wholeheartedly recommend:

  1. Karambezi Café
  2. Rohobot Ethiopian Restaurant – for authentic, well-priced Ethiopian food. The food will make up for the location despite it not having the same upscale ambiance as Addis in Dar.
  3. Épi d’Or – especially during the day
  4. Zûane – for outstanding Italian & pizzas
  5. Osaka – for great entertaining Japanese food
  6. Veranda Tapas Bar
  7. Salt – for tasty hearty food (and great steak!)
  8. Rudy’s Farm – for amazing BBQ/grilled fare
  9. Samaki-Samaki – for dependable casual dining (and great entertainment during the evenings)
  10. Kingston 8 – for Jamaican food
  11. George & Dragon – for delicious pub food and a lively environment
  12. Thai Kani – for delicious East Asian cusine although not the most authentic
  13. Oriental – for high end East Asian dining
  14. Levant – for Levantine (Middle Eastern) cuisine in an upscale atmosphere
