Flying past Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa.
In this picture, you can see 2 of Mount Kilimanjaro’s 3 volcanic cones.
The taller snow-capped one is called Kibo.
The smaller one to the right is called Mawenzi. The third not seen in this picture is Shira.
Although Mawenzi and Shira are extinct, Kibo, which is what most people climb when they climb Mount Kilimanjaro, is simply dormant and could erupt again. (Did you know this?)

Kilimanjaro Meaning
Kilimanjaro means ‘white mountain’ or ‘mount of whiteness’. To break it down, kilima in Swahili means either a small mountain or mount, while njaro is the Chagga word for ‘whiteness’.
Where Is Kilimanjaro?
Kilimanjaro is both the name of a mountain and a region in northern Tanzania, close to/on its border with Kenya.

No matter how courageous I think I am, nothing was getting me onto that rock! My heart was in my mouth for those children…I could take pictures of them though.
