I can still remember the day when I first became aware of Mr Price’s existence. The year was 2007; I was driving along Ngong Road in Nairobi near Prestige Plaza. I looked up to see a huge banner announcing the opening of a home furnishing store called Mr. Price Home at the Westgate Centre in Westlands. Hi Everyone! Today, I would like to tell you about a remake of a classic Kampala oldie-but-goodie. Most of you, if you’ve ever been to Kampala, may have heard of Bamboo Nest. Located in Bugolobi, a Kampala neighborhood where a lot of young (and not so young) people live, a neighborhood which lies between town and many other residential neighborhoods, Bamboo for the longest time was the place to meet up with friends or to stop for a drink on your way home. In parts I and II of this series, I told you about traveling between Nairobi and Kampala using both Akamba and Scandinavia. In this last post, I’ll tell you about Regional, another bus company that serves this route. In my opinion, Akamba and Scandinavia are by far the superior services.
