Have you ever eaten at Mediterraneo restaurant located at The Junction Shopping Complex? If you have, I would not be surprised if you have only good things to say about it. Mediterraneo-Junction brings together some of the best qualities that someone would seek in a fine restaurant: good food, good ambience, good service, and great wine.
The second branch of a restaurant with the same name located in Westlands (near Card Centre), Mediterraneo-Junction has the same great food as Mediterraneo-Westlands but surpasses its atmosphere, by far! Eating at Mediterraneo-Junction, during the day or at night, is a delightful experience that’s bound to leave you feeling airy and relaxed.
The welcoming atmosphere at Mediterraneo-Junction begins with a host or hostess greeting you at the door and finding you a table. A board, at the entrance, also begins to whet your appetite with tempting specials of the day. The specials at Mediterraneo-Junction are truly special, and often including delicacies such as crab and frog legs.
Mediterraneo-Junction has two floors, a ground floor and an upstairs floor, both of which have an indoor and outdoor section. My favorite spot, the one that I recommend to you, is the upstairs terrace. On this terrace, you get to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, be it the warm sun or a sweet breeze, while you watch people go about the activities that bring them to The Junction, below.

The décor at Mediterraneo-Junction, goes a long way to setting the mood of the restaurant. Very woodsy, with empty wine bottles strewn around as decoration, the atmosphere at Mediterraneo is warm and cozy.
The menu at Mediterraneo is sophisticated and typically Italian. For me, it is a great place to eat rarities such as seafood and rabbit. Mediterraneo serves the usual Italian fare, including excellent pizzas and calzones. I have eaten at Mediterraneo, many times, and I have never had a meal that I didn’t enjoy. It’s one of those places! The salads are good and can be eaten as main meals, and everything down to the breadbasket is a true feast!
If you haven’t been to Mediterraneo yet, this restaurant will delight your senses. I recommend it highly, especially for celebrations of any kind: a birthday, an anniversary, or a reunion. For a special occasion, be sure to make reservations because Mediterraneo often gets full.
I hope you get a chance to try it soon. Let me know what you think when you do. If you have already been to Mediterraneo-Junction, please leave a comment and let me know what you think.
I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Hi Jan,
Welcome to ChickAboutTown! I am so sorry that I have not been meticulous about giving you price info, but I started my informal research way before I started this site (if you know what I mean
). Thanks for pointing that out. I will try to include more price information as I write.

P.S. Of course, my reviews are not only for people who don’t have to count money before they go out!

A friend took me to the Westlands branch in 2006. I have to say it was the worst Italian food I have eaten ever.
Maybe they were having a bad night. Okay, I confess that I have been spoiled by Michelin star Italian restaurants in London, however I can also eat anywhere.
The only thing that stopped me walking out, was that I hadn’t seen my friend in over ten years, and her company was more important.
Hi Tamtam,
Welcome to ChickAboutTown!
Thanks for sharing about your experience at Mediterraneo Westlands. Wow! It was that bad? Do you remember what you ate?
I look forward to hearing from you.

I had pasta, never again.
Wow Tamtam,
It sounds like it was really, really bad. Do you remember what was so bad about it?

Biche,
It was tasteless, and stodgy. The first time I have felt that way about Italian food.
I love your blog, and have it down as one of my favourites. I will definitely take notes of restaurants you have visited before I go home.
Hi Tamtam,
Ok, I understand. It was just really bad food!
Thanks for the link on your blogroll. I am honored. Please keep coming back to ChickAboutTown and please don’t stop sharing through comments.
